Preparations before spinning
Good woollen yarn starts with careful mixing of the different fibres, the better the preparation the better the final quality of the yarn will be. Careful mixing and levelled application of the fibre lubricant are essential for a level yarn. Oil is applied to the blend to reduce fibre breakage & friction in carding and to assist in drafting during spinning. The oil should of a type that can be easily removed in later wet processing.
