Hand Spinning of the Carpet yarn |
|
Hand spun Woollen yarn is made by villagers, providing direct employment to village people of Rajasthan where most of the time there is no mode of income due to draught. First of all the blend is prepared for carding. This blend is then carded and rolled into balls. These balls are stuffed in Jute bags and are despatched to villages for hand spinning. At every village there is one co-ordinator representing us. This coordinator distributes the wool to individual hand spinners. They issue about 2 to 3 kilo wool per spinners. These hand spinners then take this wool to their house and together with other family members they spin this wool on a Charka (Spinning Wheel as shown in picture above). Next day this yarn is brought again to the co-ordinator. This co-ordinator gives them more wool for next day and takes yarn back. The yarn collected by the co-ordinator is again stuffed in jute bags and brought back to mills. This yarn is than sorted at mills and packed scoured or un-scoured as per requirement of customer. This yarn can also be twisted into two or three ply as per requirement of the customer. Normally such yarns are produced in two or three colours as such preferred in singles’ only. |
