Our History of Evolution |
|
Background During 1950’s all the Bikaner wool was being exported to Liverpool, UK. It was vision of our founder Mr. KC Bothra to spin this wool in to yarn and develop a market for it locally. In starting we entered into hand knitting apparel yarn but later we moved to Carpet yarns as the Bikaner wools were carpets wools. 1958-70 The Early sixties were the tough years being the competition with OCM (A Giant British Company) and LAL IMLI, which were large Woollen mills as compared to infant Bikaner Woollen mills. During Early sixties we termed the quality Bikaner Chowkhla and promoted the same as the best Carpet wool in the world and which was due acknowledged by IWS and Wools of NZ and our esteem customers like OBEETEE & E HILL which were British companies engaged in manufacturing and export of carpets. End of 60’s was another golden era of our mill. We started to manufacturing of Hand knotted Woollen carpets to become India’s first composite carpet factory. It was vision of our founder Mr KC Bothra to make our unit a composite carpet unit, which was first in India. 1970-80 The 70’s were the development period of the mill with major expansions. The end of 70’s was starting of second unit, as the old one was too small to accommodate further machines. The second unit was being built on a new site of 200,000 Sq. Feet plot. 1980-90 The 80’s were started with 2 new continental Carding machines from Befama (Poland). These machines were better than available domestic options that time especially for yarn for hand knotted carpets. The second quarter of 80’s proved our ability to make quality carpets. Our hand made woollen carpet is enlisted in Guinness book of world records as “Finest carpet of world” since 1985. This carpet featuring lord Krishna with Radha is woven with 2600 knots per square inch finer than some worsted cloth lengths. The third quarter of 80’s was another landmark in our mill with Bikaner’s first computer & accounting Software. Since then we are regularly upgrading our computer systems. Our all working is on computers since 1988. The end of 80’s was another technological break through for our mill after acquiring a huge carding machine of 2800mm width from Ramella (Italy) and HDB spinning frames from Belgium. This is India’s largest carding machine for woollen yarns. 1990-2000 The 90’s were another decade of technical up gradation with proper blending system with Bins was introduced in the mill. The mid 90’s were celebrated with addition of an OKK type Semi worsted spinning system. The end of 90’s was another landmark for mill to acquire modern spinning frames, twisting frames, reeling machines & latest accessories from Europe. Since then mill is similar to any woollen spinning unit in Europe. 2000 onwards The new century was welcomed by a Schlumberger GN-5 spinning set (With Autoleveller) combined with latest spinning frame (with Sussen Drafting & Sussen Spindles) from France & Germany Combined with modern Cone Winder machines for carpet yarns. All winders are equipped with electronic yarn clearers. In our continuous quest for quality management and production our Mr Shreyans Bothra was send to a leading spinning mill in UK for complete know how of modern spinning of Woollen yarn. They stayed there for several months and worked there with learned staff of that mill. The experience gained from this training has helped us lot to improve in many aspects. Since than Mr Shreyans has again underwent two training in Europe for further sharpening of his skills. |
